Patch Notes – March 2026

API Changes, new Search Modal, dev experience improvements and more on today’s patch!

API Changes – Our API changes (which we announced in February) went live this month. We made several adjustments—including to rate limits—to minimize the day-to-day impact. We also have a blog post with more details about this…
Troubleshooting Tool – We now have a new tool to help diagnose issues caused by the API changes in userscripts!
New Search Modal – Our search modal now supports full keyboard navigation! In addition:
- We made improvements and search should be even faster
- Restock Shops and Official Lists results now appear on mobile as well
- The search bar now also searches your lists!
- You can use Recent Results to jump directly to an item (or list or shop) without having to search again

The login menu now also accepts just your username (in addition to email)
We rewrote our login system to remove Google Firebase from our site. Authentication is now fully handled by us!
We also made additional changes to make it easier to run your own local copy of itemdb (did you know we’re open source?). Learn more here
Added the Retry-After header so developers know when a rate-limit ban will expire

Fixed an issue in Album Helper script where the Album Info button was not working due to the API changes
Tons of API Changes related issues (before it even went live!)
