Fountain Faerie Quests are rare and random — the hard part is getting one at all (except during Faerie Festival, when they are much more common). Once you have access, the Rainbow Fountain can paint almost any colour. The Lab Ray is also random: each zap may change colour, species, or stats, and landing your exact combo can take a long time. Premium's yearly species change is another option when you already have the colour you want.
