When you’re typing your queries in the itemdb search bar, you can throw in some operators and filters to fine-tune your search even more. Check it out:
Wow, a weird word, but boolean operators are pretty easy to grasp (and they’re quite powerful too).
| AND | Just typing your query will automatically use the AND operator. That means your search results have to include all the terms you’re looking for. |

| OR | Putting your query in parentheses will activate the OR operator. This means your search results should have at least one of the terms you’re searching for. | (orange grundo) will return items that have orange OR grundo in its name |
| NOT | Adding a hyphen (-) at the beginning of a word (or operator) will trigger the NOT operator. This means the result of your search MUST NOT contain a term. | orange -grundo will return items that have orange but doesn’t have grundo in its name |
You can also mix and match these operators, and that’s where the fun begins! Searching for (yooyu kadoatie) (yellow blue faerie) will return items that contain (yooyu OR kadoatie) AND (yellow OR blue OR faerie) in their name. Try it out!

| “exact search” | If you put your query in double quotes, itemdb will search for an item that is exactly the same as what you typed. | "blue yooyu" will return a Blue Yooyu |
| Wildcard (*) | The wildcard (*) operator lets you search for a term that can be anything, even if it’s a little different. | yooyu* will match yooyu but also yooyuball |
You can also use all the filters on the search page directly in the search bar. All filters are AND by default, which means that if you use one, all the results will have to meet the filter.
You can also use the NOT (-) operator to negate a filter (except numeric ones, sortBy, sortDir and mode)
